Where Do We Go From Here: Answering The Pandemic Wake-Up Call
Updated: Jun 1, 2020
Where do we go from here? What is the new normal in a post-pandemic world? What many of us are experiencing right now should hopefully be a wake-up call. Unfortunately, most of you will ignore the call and find yourselves forced into a financially self-induced quarantine because you failed to adapt and change. Whether you have been laid off, furloughed or your business has been deemed nonessential, you are likely feeling fear, frustration, and maybe panic. What you once thought was secure, your job and your paycheck, has now become one of the least secure things in your life.

You are likely asking yourself why? Why me? Why did I give so many years of my life? Why did I give my blood, sweat and tears? Why am I not essential? Why were they so quick to cut me or my pay? Don't get stuck playing the victim card, because you can't control it, and dwelling on it won't fix the problem it will only compound it. Accept it and look forward.
Answer your wake-up call. We know events like these happen and will likely happen again over our lifetime. What can you change to set yourself and your family up for future events like these? Understand how you are creating income now and how you want to create income in the future. Check out my previous post called Your Vehicle Dictates Your Destination, which talks about the job or business you choose will ultimately dictate your results in life so chose carefully.
A lot of people I have talked to out there are hearing the wake-up call, but don't know where to start. Now is a great time to reach out to people that are doing something different than the masses and thriving during these times. Open up your mind and start learning about the different ways to generate income and potential side hustles. Find something you can invest your time in that can deliver financial safety and security for you and your family for the long haul.
The rest of you will come out of this begging for your job back or begging for the next company to take you in because you are so afraid of tomorrow and can't see 5-10 years down the road. I feel bad for those of you because you will be right back here in 5-10 years when the next major event hits. You know it will happen again so if you get caught up in the next recession, real estate bubble, pandemic, etc. you have only yourself to blame.
Answer your wake-up call. If you change nothing, nothing will change. Invest in yourself, grow yourself, and change your future. Your family is counting on you.
